CIMULACT stands for ‘Citizen and Multi-Actor Consultation on Horizon 2020’. In this project more than 1000 citizens in 30 countries in Europe, along with a variety of other actors, engaged in shaping a desirable sustainable future. Mobilizing society’s ‘collective intelligence’ through establishing genuine dialogue between citizens, stakeholders, scientists and policy makers can help to make the European science and technology system more reflective of and in line with societal needs. This will better embed daily practices of European society, e.g. increasing the scientific literacy of citizens, in research.

Duneworks took care of the external evaluation of this project, addressing questions about: the choice of participatory approaches, the implementation of participatory processes, the outcomes of these processes, and lessons for future participatory processes.
