Ramya Krishnan

Ramya works as a transition design-researcher at DuneWorks. Her main interest lies in using principles of environmental justice and human-centred systems design to ensure better access to basic needs (energy, potable water, sanitation and nutrition) in society. As a systems designer, she tries to make sense of the dynamics between various actors in complex systems, design interactions between them and discover new ways to work with the complexity. Additionally, she is passionate about rethinking public systems to ensure dignity in their designs.

She studied Industrial (Product) Design at DJ Academy of Design (in India) before switching to the Industrial Design program at Eindhoven University of Technology. She is currently in her final semester and the focus of her Bachelor’s thesis is on improving access to energy through energy banks in the Netherlands.
